The Bridge for communication is built on a relationship between staff and patients. Bridging the Communication Gap is designed to assist dialysis facilities in developing effective communication between staff and patients. Dialysis staff have many different goals when they interact with patients such as answering questions or concerns, giving the patient information about changes, addressing behavioral issues, helping patients avoid making unhealthy choices in treatment. The program is designed to present access to a number of training modules and resources that will assist facility staff in having the tools for effective communication. The tools presented in this program are based on Motivational Interviewing (MI) skills. The Bridge for Communications is built on a relationship between staff and patients. This training will assist staff in building that relationship to bridge the gap between patients and staff.
