OVERVIEW
The Patient Engagement Learning and Action Network (LAN) is a dynamic group of patients and professionals that help the Network respond to patient needs and seek ways to improve patient/staff relationships. It will identify ways to spread best practices and design and implement Quality Improvement Activities (QIAs) that promote patient-centeredness.
The Patient Engagement LAN will represent a cross section of patient demographics and treatment modalities across the Network. This committee will provide an approach to patient-related issues and concerns that involve continuously seeking better ways to do things --- ways that lead to more informed patients and better treatment results. The LAN will act as an advisory group to the Network Patient Services Department and will provide input into Network activities and projects. GOALS
- Develop an annual Quality Improvement Activity that promotes patient-centeredness
- Develop two annual innovative patient education projects that are based upon the needs and concerns of kidney patients
- Act as an Advisory Group to the Patient Services Department
MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS:
- Serve a three year term of office with the option of serving additional terms
- Attend four meetings a year (Network staff available to help make travel arrangements)
- Ability to travel – meetings are held throughout the Network area (travel expenses are paid)
- Experience with renal issues
Willingness to work on educational projects and activities
