Participation Requirements
The project is attempting to assess whether there are genetic risk factors for ESRD in patients with lupus nephritis. Patients with Lupus that are on dialysis or who have been transplanted are eligible to participate in the study. All that is required of the patient is a single blood draw, from his/her dialysis line while on dialysis and completion of a patient questionnaire.
Dr. Lee Hebert, The Ohio State University Medical Center (OSU) is the study investigator in our region. The OSU IRB has approved the study design and consent form. Your participation would require only that Dr. Hebert have your permission to contact your ESRD SLE patients that are undergoing dialysis or have received a transplant and a list of patients to contact at your facility. Study staff will obtain patient permission and informed consent prior to collecting blood sample or patient information.
